Sheldon College’s Theatresports teams have both earned a place in the quarter finals of the Queensland Youth Theatresports Challenge after their recent victories in their respective heats of the competition. Almost all the Year 9 to 12 players are studying in the Australian School of the Arts Professionals Program at Sheldon College and their ASTA training certainly paid off on stage with some excellent improvised scene work. Quite a few Year 8 students also attended the competition heats at Victoria Point State High School to gain a better understanding of performing live improvised works.
Improvised performance skills are drawn on throughout senior Curriculum and extra-curricular Arts study and Theatresports is one of the main training tools to build these skills.
Well done to the “Bento Box” team and “Magic Bus” team.
